Default Yellows on the Chew 7-25

Rich met at my place to load the rubber ducky and travel to SD to go out to the Coronados. Launched at 5:00am and ran over to get bait at Ev. Bait was beautiful for a change, we were on our way !! Got to the middle grounds and slow trolled for 1 1/2 hours without a bite. Rich said get the pickled eggs out for a snack. As soon as I got a bite it was ZZZZZZZ . Couldnt stop the beast on 25 lb and he made it to the rocks-POW with 10ft of schreded line. The bite continued for the next 2 hours-slow pic but nice fish .Rich got worked next but landed a big one at 27 lb. Water was 66.4 and went up during the day to 68.1 after the sun came out.
Continued on our quest and landed 5 nice fish from 22-27 lb. The bite was over at 10;30 am , nothing after that . Wind was 4-5 early then 15 -20 on the way back. Another great day on the ducky !! Thanks for the company Rich !!

Thanks for the invite, Lal buddy. I was beat by the time I got home, and went to bed early. Those fish were tough, and fought like dogs!
Most came on the slow trolled Sardines, and a couple were fly lined.

We went 5 for 11 on the hookups. Number 6 fish would have been a nice one, but something happened on the way to the kill bag.

It seems Mr. 500 lb Knothead had other plans, and he relieved me of most of the 25 lb (est) Yellowtail. The tax was paid, and I got the head back as a receipt.

The bite died 2 hours after it started. The wind came up and chased us back to Shelter Island, but not before we stuffed down some Shrimp, and some great Turkey sandwiches that Lal had thrown together the night before. Theyz wuz stupid good!!

Immigration stopped us inside the Harbor, and after asking us where we were coming in from, Lal said "the Coronado's". They didn't want to see our passports or license's. All they wanted was to have us show one of the big Yellowtail that we caught. They oohd and aawed at our success.

Gas mileage on the Rubber Ducky is amazing. My boat would have burned 3 X the amount we used. Thanks again for the fun outing Lal. I hope to get invited again, SOON!

See Ya.......Rich on TAXFREE

The ducky is a custom Pacific inflateable. Its 18 ft overall length with large pontoons-so its very dry in most weather. I got a 4 stroke Yahama last year and imporved the gas mileage to close to 7 mpg with the 60 hsp. It has a 32 gal bait tank and a combo gps-fishfinder-no radar .
