Lower Unit Gear oil change

What is the best way to change out the lower unit gear oil w/ out making such a mess?? I followed the manufacturers direction, unscrewed both the top and bottom screws for draining (fine so far), went to fill it from the bottom, but didn't have enough room to fill the oil from the bottom (according to directions, it said fill w/ engine in upright position). Is there a gadget out there that makes this an easy oil change??

Thanks,
John

West Marine and Boaters World both sell adapters which screw right into the lower end and the other end screws onto a quart size lube container, When you empty one you just unscrew it (no spill) and screw on the new one to continue filling. I just did it to my Yamaha 150 and was really clean and easy.
