Default BIG Weather change coming

Apparently there is a big honking low pressure system heading our way. Be safe out there. We could be talking......get this.....Snow @ 6000'. From NOAA: ...A VERY RARE AND COLD SEPTEMBER STORM ON TAP FOR LATER THIS WEEK.. THE MAIN WEATHER FEATURE OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS IS THE HIGHLY ANOMALOUSLY COLD AND STRONG UPPER LOW DROPPING DOWN THE W CST. MODELS HAVE COME INTO BETTER AGREEMENT WITH THE TRACK OF THE SYSTEM...BUT STILL DIFFER BY OVER ONE HUNDRED MILES. THIS DIFFERENCE WILL BE SIGNIFICANT WITH SUCH A SYSTEM. THIS SYSTEM IS QUITE POTENT...AND WILL LIKELY BRING SOME HEAVY RAINFALL TOTALS TO THE AREA. WHILE AMOUNTS WILL LIKELY BE HIGHLY VARIABLE DUE TO THE SHOWERY NATURE OF THE PRECIPITATION...EXPECT MOST AREAS TO RECEIVE ONE HALF INCH TO ONE INCH OF RAIN BY THE TIME IT IS OVER ON SATURDAY. THERE MAY WELL BE TOTALS OF 2 TO 3 INCHES...ESPECIALLY IN OROGRAPHICALLY FAVORED LOCATIONS IN THE MTNS OF SBA AND NWRN VTU COUNTIES...AND PORTIONS OF THE L.A. COUNTY MTNS AS WELL. RAINFALL INTENSITIES MAY BE GREAT ENOUGH TO CAUSE SOME MUD AND DEBRIS FLOWS IN THE RECENTLY BURNED AREAS...AND THIS WILL HAVE TO BE WATCHED CLOSELY. FLASH FLOOD WATCHES FOR THE BURN AREAS MAY HAVE TO BE ISSUED. WITH SUCH COLD AIR ALOFT...SNOW LEVELS MAY FALL TO AMAZINGLY LOW LVLS FOR SEPTEMBER FRI AND FRI NIGHT...POSSIBLY DOWN TO BETWEEN 5500 AND 6000 FEET FRI NIGHT. THERE COULD BE SEVERAL INCHES OF SNOW IN THE MTNS ABOVE 6500 FEET...AND SNOW ADVISORIES MAY WELL HAVE TO BE ISSUED FOR THE MTNS OF L.A. AND VTU COUNTIES...MAINLY FOR LATE FRI AND FRI NIGHT. THE UPPER LOW WILL BEGIN TO MOVE EWD FRI NIGHT...WITH THE THREAT OF SHOWERS AND TSTMS DECREASING FROM NW TO SE ACRS THE AREA OVERNIGHT. .LONG TERM...SOME SHOWERS WILL LIKELY LINGER ACRS L.A. AND VTU COUNTIES SAT MORNING...THEN SKIES SHOULD BEGIN TO CLEAR. SOME WARMING WL BEGIN ON SAT AS HGTS RISE AND SUNSHINE APPEARS...BUT IT WILL STILL BE QUITE COOL. MORE SIGNIFICANT WARMING WILL TAKE PLACE ACRS THE AREA ON SUN WITH PLENTY OF SUNSHINE...THEN TEMPS WILL CONT TO WARM A BIT MON AND TUE AS UPPER RIDGING BUILDS INTO THE AREA.
