Wow! I don't know what to say!

I spoke to him in July when we got back from our 8 day. He was all fired up and wanted to get on a boat asap. I met Stan on the Tabi trips and fished with him on some Grabowski charters as well. A more genuine, good hearted guy you'll never meet. What a shame!

54! Dang!

RIP brother!

I was shocked to hear the news this morning.....we had some really great times... never will forget the time Stan hand lined a albacore in on a moving boat because the skipper wouldn't stop .,.........the poor fish was gilled and gutted when it came over the rail.... But that was classic Stan.

he was living his dream in Mexico....and I'm glad I got to see him in July......RIP Stan.

I met Stan on the first organized FishFest trip. What fun to be around, what fun we all had! It had been several years since I last fished with him, but I would run into him at the docks a couple of times a year, always good to see him.
This news leaves me stunned. 54 years old is far too young.
Is there word of a memorial or service?

I've only heard of the service in Mexico. But Chuck, RDRRM8E is asking for pics of Stan to be emailed to:kendonaldpite@gmail.com

Put a reference to the Darkside in the email. They are trying to get as many pics as possible for the memorial.

Stan was living in Bahia Asuncion.
I understand the service and final resting place will be there.

Very sorry to learn of this. I had drinks with Stan at the Boll Weevil in SD before one of HD's Pizaz charters back in the day. He was my kind of guy, great sense of humor and very willing to help others. My sincere condolences.

Chuck is on his way down there now. He left me a msg lastnight. Hope he reads this when he returns or I'll relay the msg. I'm sure there will be a memorial here at some point and I'll have a real reason to head South. RIP SurfDoc Stan.

Great guy. Last time I talked to him he seemed happy as ****, and tried to convince me to move down to Mexico. ?He is where he is supposed to be. And yet the place he has found is also of his own choosing. That is a piece of luck not to be despised.? Cormac McCarthy I'm really going to miss him. Jim
