Default RIP Stan, AKA Surfdoc

Sad to learn today Stan, or Surfdoc, passed away today while cooking breakfast. I met Stan on this board, and we met face to face on one of the early Allcoast charters.

He was a very good man, loved to fish, enjoy all associated with a fishing trip.

I think about how many friends I've made since this whole message board thing started up, and the number is astounding.

But those on that first charter really opened my eyes up on what friends are. It still warms my heart to recall that trip.

But today is a cloudy and rainy day in my mind on that trip.

We'll miss ya Stan.

I was likely with you guys on that trip. Didn't miss many Allcoast trips with my Brothers in the day.

Thinking about times with Stan in the old Allcoast days brought me here tonight after dealing with the loss all day. Found many familiar names and a good vibe. Like that.

May Stan (Surfdoc) rest in peace.

Sad news indeed.

I only ever met Stan once and that was a while back. From what I knew of him he was what those from Maine call "finestkind". He'll surely be missed by many.

I was shocked when I heard the news. Stan was only 54, but an old timer here.

Back in the day, lots of people met through Allcoast and even got charters together. One of those charters was "Fish Fest 2002" aka "FF02". I remember standing around the docks waiting to board the Q105 for the sold out 8 day trip. Stan had come down to the dock to see us off. It turned out that the Q was short a crew member for the trip and needed a galley assistant. Stan made a couple of phone calls, got time off from work, rushed home to pack and ended up adding "long range crew member" to his resume.

Didn't know him other than from his posts. From all of the tributes on this board and BD, it sounds like I should have. RIP.
