How about because it is perfectly legal to do there what the tree huggers have stolen from us here, and with NO science at all to back it up, much like the MLPAs!
Yes it was legal to do, but I still agree with Taurus that it was irresponsible of him to send in the picture and brag about it for everyone to see and read in todays currently fragile political environment...an environment that includes all of us.

I know a lot of people that live in California, but have another home in another state and keep some of there mounts there. It's not against the law and more power to them.

Don't whine,, go here and back him up!!!

bull$hit...first off, quit insulting people....next you can take the blinders off and look at the big picture. legalities aside, it was a dumb thing for him to do. i expect more from the people at the top. when you choose to live the political life , you're forced to live a public one also. he lost sight of that

or did he?

here is little c&p from the mercury news today. the guide that took richards on the hunt. like i said, dumb....i don't care for dumb people in positions of power.

maybe he has his head full of worry over the colonies bribery case...it looks like the dominoes are beginning to fall.but i guess he can plead dumb on that too.

"Peterson said he thinks Richards is being treated unfairly. But he added that Richards seemed to know his actions would be controversial in California, where former Gov. Ronald Reagan first banned mountain lion hunting in 1972 in five-year increments. California voters then made the ban permanent with the passage of Proposition 117 in 1990.

"I didn't realize, although Dan may have, that it would cause that big of a fuss," Peterson said. "He knows the people in his state. He said he was going to have that photo in some publications down there. He mentioned it would cause some stir among the environmentalists. He knew it would cause some trouble.""

bull$hit...first off, quit insulting people. Please Mr. Tauras, Sorry if the Packer statement insulted you. Of coarse Mr. Richards new exactly what he was doing. What better way to bring to light some of the abuses going on in California Fish and Game as it has to do with non biology based decisions. Fearful hand ringing on the sportsmans part will soon make all hunting in California illegal. I know that sounds like an absurd statement, but just look at some of the things that are now in place that 20 or 30 years ago most logical people would have said, "thats absurd, that will never happen.

huh? packer?...i don't have a clue....thats okay, if you don't want to man up and acknowledge your insults i really could care less...your character flaw, not mine.

be careful who you decide to rally behind. i don't think dan richards will be walking free for long..the feds are on the hunt for him(couldn't resist the pun). they already have a key witness that took a plea bargan. his cooperation lead to the indictments of richards business partner and three of his cronies.one of which went on the lamb. the feds raided offices in late sept. with warrants. they left with a truckload of documents.
the feds want to roll some heads over this public official bribery scandal. it wouldn't surprise me one bit to see richards partner take a deal to roll over on richards.

google his involvement in the colonies partners bribery indictments. then google his partners and associates names.

then tell me richards wasn't involved while keeping a straight face.

Last I heard a man is innocent until proven guilty. Just cause some guy trying to get out from under several felonies says what a DA wants to hear does not make it so. But time will tell. If he is found to be a crook then he will pay the price and rightfully so. The DA in the case, Mike Ramos does seems to be an alright guy so he should get a fair shake.

the indictment centers around political pay-offs...... and how did richards get his current politically appointed job? this just keeps getting better. add it in with "Co-Chair of MLPA Initiative Science Advisory Team Arrested" http://www.indybay.org/newsitems/201...5/18708182.php
