We rolled out on Condor Monday night with Capt Scott, 2nd
Mike, Rob and 2 more Mikes on deck,& Christoph in the galley.
Scott told us we'd stop IF we see jumping bluefin, but we're
going yard and won't start fishing til at least 9am. We
barely got the jigs out and JUMPERS and nailed 15 bluefin
before they waltzed on down the road. We picked away for some
big yellows 20-30# and few dorado on paddys, and then...what
we call on Condor THE ONE...THE PADDY FROM HEAVEN. The crew
could see 20-30 fish jumping around it a mile away in the binos.
GO to 40-50lb, floro not needed, get ready for a trainwreck,
and god IT WAS. We caught over 130 fish in just over an hour,
limits of dorado for all 27 winders, big yellows for all and
to my suprise a 38lb+ JP Yellowin tuna kick my butt for awhile.
A couple brothers from Wyoming caught a YF bigger but passed
it back and forth and got DQ'd=OUCH. I gave the crew the JP
for insane good help during the melee. We filled the gunnys
til bags split open, and got ordered to STOP while the crew
tagged and put fish in both holds, affixed new gunnys and
washed gallons of blood off the decks. OK ROUND 2, then 3
and more carnage til' we were ready to drop. So many dorado
we were told NO MAS we already have limits. We headed back
north trolling and looking for more bluefin but no biters.
My freezer is full,my neighbors and mailman and workers
are smiling and I'm beat. WHAT a 1.5 day for the books!
Lucky me got the 1st Grand Slam in years, BF,YF,YT and DODO!
THANKS TO SCOTT AND THE WHOLE CONDOR CREW-THIS WAS A ROCKER

Hi Ron Beach,

Great report and enough pics to give us an idea of the fishys. Glad you were rewarded with such a trip ...... Tuna fishng being such a feast or famine thing often.

SPECIAL congrats on the Grand Slam ..... I'm no trophy guy but love the variety, multi-species thing and these slams are waaaaaay up on my list of desireability !!

Thanks for the excellent read,

tsurikichi
