Probably 50% of the trips made by the Betty'O out of MDR are youth program fishing trips so I would suspect the Betty'O would know how to handle kids.

I've had good expereinces taking my kids on the Speed Twin out of CISCOs. It also has a big galley for when they get tired. Downsides are high stern bait tanks, poor tackle storage and can be very crowded on weekends.

Ensign jr high school in Newport Beach has a fishing club. We have a trip on Oct.29 out of Dana Wharf. I'll let you know how we do.

Hey there Gnarly,

Thank you very much.

We 'alleged' adults can take a bad trip or two and mark it up to the roll of the dice ..... but .... kids don't usually think that way. I sure as heck wouldn't want to risk turning off a hoped-for life-time fishing buddy (kid) on a coupla bum trips! By bum trips I mean unkind treatment of little guys .... not the catching!

Hi there Brad_G,

Thank you for the contribution.

I will put it in the directory on the kids page and try to find a past thread or post that mentioned the Speed Twin in that light. If I find it, I will link it from the kids page back to this board. Fact is ..... I remember one specific post!
